Bertec Instrumented Stairs

Bertec’s instrumented stairs are designed to measure ground reaction forces while ascending or descending stairs. Three of the four levels of stairs are instrumented with Bertec’s patented strain gauge technology, allowing the measurement of ground reaction force and moment as well as Center of Pressure (CoP).

A one-of-a-kind solution

Measure ground reaction forces and assess mobility on customizable instrumented stairs. Because the stairs are on wheels and the force plates are easily detachable, the instrumented stairs have maximum portability. Use stand-alone force plates or add instrumented handrails to capture upper arm data as well.

There are five versions of the Instrumented Stairs:

• Instrumented staircase with one Step instrumented with a portable force plate and a non-instrumented landing area. The price includes a 3-step staircase with a landing area on casters, one force plate, an amplifier, and cable.
• Instrumented staircase with Two Steps instrumented with portable force plates and a non-instrumented landing area. The price includes a 3-step staircase with a landing area on casters, two force plates, two amplifiers, and cables.
• Instrumented staircase with three steps instrumented with portable force plates and a non-instrumented landing area. The price includes a 3-step staircase with a landing area on casters, three force plates, amplifiers, and cables.
• Instrumented staircase with 6 steps instrumented with portable force plates and a non-instrumented landing area. The price includes a 6-step staircase with a landing area on casters, six force plates, amplifiers, and cables.
• Instrumented staircase with 9 steps instrumented with portable force plates and a non-instrumented landing area. The price includes a 9-step staircase with a  landing area on casters, nine force plates, amplifiers, and cables.
